Handy hint!...when supplying PC files

Create professional quality 'Prepress' print ready PDF files from any printable document using software readily available on the internet. When supplying PC files from programs like Publisher, Word, Excel or even PowerPoint. We find this method of file creation and distribution has many advantages. You don't need to worry about fonts going missing or re-tracking. Your file will also include cut marks. We recommend using www.primopdf.com. It's free, has no popup web ads and allows you to create PDF files optimized for 'Prepress'

Top tips for designers and professionals supplying artwork

  1. If possible always supply a colour printed proof of your work when placing your order.
  2. Supply all fonts used in your document.
  3. Images should bleed 5mm beyond the trimmed edge
  4. Text should be inset at least 5mm from the trimmed edge
  5. Bitmap images set at 300dpi or higher at 100% size
  6. Bitmap images set in CMKY
  7. Flatten all bitmap transparencies (flatten Photoshop layers)
  8. When creating PDF's select 'Press Quality' or 'Pre-Press' in the PDF style menu.
  9. Don't supply jobs stepped up. (eg. more than one copy on a sheet) We will do that for you.
  10. Cut marks to be set in 'Registration Colour' or 100% of CMYK
  11. When supplying EPS files, where possible convert all text to a 'Path' or 'Curve'
